Has RCxRules’ automation capabilities affected your revenue cycle staffing requirements?  If so, how?

There are three main areas in which RCxRules has affected our staffing requirements: Knowledge Retention, Charge Posting staff, and A/R follow-up.

  1. Knowledge - When a staff member leaves, because we are able to internalize their knowledge into the RCxRules solution, that knowledge doesn’t leave with them; nor do we have to replace the knowledge that would have otherwise been lost (which is costly).
  2. Charge Posting FTE’s - Due to RCxRules being able to automate a large portion of the Allscripts EMR charge import process, we were able to reduce charge posting staff by 3 FTE’s, and will add another FTE in savings over the next few months as we increase our level of automation within RCxRules.
  3. A/R Staff reduction – Because RCxRules results in far cleaner claims going out to payers, there is less work for our A/R team to do; we have reduced A/R staff by 1 FTE to date.

Can you describe what the return on investment has been through the use of RCxRules?

In addition to the significant ROI points mentioned above, we have also experienced a noticeable reduction in time to payment (due to cleaner claims). Also, RCxRules’ automation abilities helped us navigate the ICD-10 transition with basically no disruption to our business operations and cash flow.

Is there anything else you think a prospective RCxRules customer should know?

The implementation process was smooth and their ongoing customer service is timely.
